Bringing the 70's Back

Is anyone else super excited about the comeback of flare jeans other than me? Since it's ber months, this pair of jeans is going to become a closet essential for the colder season. Y'all can have all of the skinny jeans you want but I'm not giving up my flares.

Did you know that Flared hems on jeans like "Bellbottoms" and "Wide Legs" were huge in the 70's and 90's?  Your favorite stores, like Forever 21 and H&M, are already full of different sorts of flared jeans. You can also find them from online shops where I got mine.

If you want to look your best wearing flared jeans but are petite like me, I really suggest you wear high heels or wedges so your look won't be compromised. Also, the trickiest part is the length. Make sure their hem ends a few inches above your soles, which make your jeans long enough to have your heels or wedges peek a bit from underneath. You don't want to step on the hem of your jeans. I go for comfort over anything else.

For those who are scared to pull these flares off, don't be! Give it a try and discover the beauty of the 70's and 90's fashion. I'll keep on wearing mine with confidence. So, will you wear this look?

Scarf on A Windy Day

Hi guys! It's been awhile since I posted an outfit because I've been really busy getting things together at my new place. So, it's already rainy season here in the Philippines and the weather here is bipolar so you don't know if it'll rain or not. In that case I always bring a foldable umbrella and an infinite shawl that fits my bag. Trust me, it comes in handy.

When the wind starts to blow, I just have to put out my IMPRESAFASHION shawl, plus sometimes it's fun to wear shawls because it can add some color and vibe to your outfit. Having an infinite shawl is so convenient because you can style it in so many ways and it can change your outfit style in instant; like from Bohemian look to work-look. For my outfit, I wore an H&M white tank top paired with ripped boyfriend jeans. What I love about jeans is they don't go out of style and they are easy to pair with. A cute pair of boyfriend fit can create a laid-back attitude for everyday wear. In addition,  some of my favorite accessories like the OLD GOLD VINTAGE sunglasses, VELOCI watch, GUESS bag,  Forever 21 bangles & earrings and TRES SHOES PH sandals to complete my look.

Always go for comfort and minimum effort while still trying to look fun everyday this week.

Last Christmas

Hello everyone! Want to share you an outfit I wore last Christmas. Credits to Shuttered Realities by Raniel Hernandez for the wonderful photos.

Every Christmas, I always think of a "bongga" outfit for Christmas party. I assume everyone does too.    For my Christmas outfit, I've thought of wearing my H&M thigh-high booths that Matt gave me. Since we don't have winter or fall here in the Philippines, I think Christmas or Ber months is the perfect time to wear these lovely booties.

Sweater dresses and thigh-highs are a great combo. A long-sleeved sweater dress can look a little off when it's styles with the wrong shoes but a pair thigh-high booths is the perfect match. And, we know the power of a Little Black Dress or LBD for short. You look simple but glamorous at the same time. You only need minimal accessories to make a big impact so I just added Forever 21 body chain necklace, rings & Bershka round hat.

So what do you think of my "bongga" outfit. Hope you had an awesome day today. Toodles!

White Out!

There's so much trends going around the world like now that sometime you don't know  where to go or what to follow but here's any easier way out of the clutter: wearing white on white and, more white. You don't need to pull up big bills from your wallet to follow a celebrity to pull the look off; this is something you won't even think twice to purchase it. I got the H&M crop top and Forever 21-inspired high waisted shorts from FAIRE FUSION and you wouldn't believe how much it costs.  I'll give you a hint: It's not even half the retail price. And, I just want to keep it minimal so I accessorized my look with a nice handmade necklace from PINK OUTSIDE THE BOX & rings from Forever 21. To preserve the monochromatic style, I went for a white open-toe block heel sandals with a little color of black from HUEMANILA

Just a reminder, make sure the shades work together. Ask yourself, does one white look so bright that it makes the other almost look dirty? Be mindful how your whites work together.

By the way, I decided its time for a change. No more blonde ends and sticking to a simple and sophisticated bob look.

Happy New Year 2015!

Last week we rang in the new year and declared, "Out with the old!" and, "In with the new!"

I just want to greet everybody a Happy New Year! I hope you guys had a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones and friends. For me, I spent my holiday season well with the people close to my heart especially my boyfriend, Matt who stayed in the Philippines for us to celebrate our first Christmas & New Year together. 2014 was indeed a good year and I'm looking forward for what 2015 has for me.

How about you? Since it's New Year, everybody's thinking of what's their new year's resolution. What to change from last year? This and that. The new year makes people welcome change. We make resolutions defining what will be better for our lives this 2015. Even if change is hard, just take baby steps and you'll get there.

I decide to go casual but still fash-i-on as Matt and I went to the mall. Some folks are already posting their New Year's preparation while I'm still at the mall scoring some post holiday sales. By the way, credits to Matt Salem for taking these nice photos. I didn't know you have a photography talent in you love! ;-P

So here are the brands that I wore:

Changed Up to Pin-Up

I just want to share this, a lot of people think all of my clothes are new and up-to-date but little do they know I'm attracted to the beauty and quality of many vintage items or just vintage-inspired items. I grew up watching old classic movies because of my dad and my sister who went to a film school. I enjoy watching how people was dressed, spoke to each other in an old school way and the everyday scenarios that we don't see anymore in the present. But, of course there are new movies that I enjoy, but sometimes a steady stream of classic cinema makes me feel happy and curious.
This area of my life where I take refuge in The Vintage Life is a great comfort even in my fashion instinct.
So for my 50's-inspired look, I'll start of from head to toe. I'm a collector of cat's eye frames, I like how catchy and edgy it is. Maybe because I'm a big fan of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. When I saw Audrey Hepburn wearing a pair of cat's eye sunglasses in Breakfast at Tiffany, I want to have my own pair right away. Thank you GEORGINA SASHA for my Vern #GSunnies. Laid my Forever 21 red floral headband that matches these cute red fruity stuffs from ITS GORGEOUS GIRLS. And do not forget the "Pouty Lips". Who can forget that? For pin up lips, opt to wear a bright red, and MAC Ruby Woo is just perfect.
For wardrobe, draw some inspiration from the 50's like the famous polka dots dress. This COTTON ON dress fits perfectly plus the clothe is very comfortable. Last but not the least, can't get enough with these matching lippy bag and red flats from ALLURE COLLECTION

Pick a pin up inspiration that you admire and emulate of their dazzle into your pin up style like Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Ava gardner, Betty Bromser and etc. But, don't try to copy these woman, try to put your own personality into your look. ;-P

Complementary Hues

Have you ever found yourself stuck in a style rut when all you can think of wearing is black or white? How about playing with fun color combination to liven up your wardrobe? For today's style post, I'm trying out mixing cool and warm colors. Playing with colors can completely transform your look from winter to spring, spring to summer and so on.
If you don't know some of the color theories, I will share one to you now because it is relevant to some aspects of style besides clothing as well. The color theory that I applied on my outfit is the "Complementary Colors" theory.. These are the colors that are directly across from each other on the color wheel.
Check this out:

Because of their high contrast, they complement each other as the name implies. To make it easier for you to decide what colors to combine, start with a primary color as the base which I chose to wear my blue pleated maxi skirt from CERTAIN THINGS and complement it with orange layered necklace and GOLD SMITHS GRANDAUGHTER bangles. To balance the colors, I wore my white mid-corset with floral prints that I got from CLOTHES BUFFET MANILA. FEET HER WELL comfy white ballet shoes and rose gold hand bag from BAGELLA NI TATAT to finish the look.

So would you wear orange and blue together? What do you think of my outfit? :-)

Trendsetters Bazaar Experience

Oh hello Monday! That was an exhausting weekend but then all the sweat was worth it because the result was more than what we've expected. Thank you so much Trendsetters Bazaar for a wonderful experience.

It's a romper kind of day so I went bohemian with my VETUS SHOP black and white romper. This outfit is comfortable plus fashionable. We had to set up at 10:00 am until 11:00 am before they open the doors but then we arrived like around 10:30 am so we were literally running and rushing all the display. Thank goodness I wore this comfy romper.

Since I'm selling my old fashion clothes, footwear and accessories, I still opt to look presentable inspite of all the stress. So my accessories saved me, wore my Bershka round fedora hat, Terranova earrings, Forever 21 aztec bangle and VAINTAGE gold gladiator sandals.

Green Green Grass of Home

Hello everyone! I hope everybody's doing okay. Lately, I've been going back to BF Homes, Paranaque at my sister's house to see her and my beautiful nephews. I'm really excited for the upcoming Trendsetter's bazaar this Friday because my sister and I are going to sell her oh-so-yummy cookies and brownies. I will also be selling some clothes from my closet so I hope to see you guys there on the 17th to 19th.

This day is too hot for sweaters and too cold for tank tops. MOSIMMO sheer top is something that works for in between the weather. Pair it with MOSSIMO skinny jeans, S&H FASHION boots and a Bershka round fedora hat for an on-trend outfit.

Sorry I just had to make this quick because I have to wake up early tomorrow. Toodles!

Suede & Aztec

Staying cool in these DAINTY PINK CO tribal scallop from shorts since it's been hot the entire day. Shorts are fully lines and have an elastic waistband so its very comfortable to wear. Thought of paring it with black sued crop top and PURPLE SOLE PH tall gladiator sandals.

If you're going for a dressier look, team it up with gold chandelier necklace, Forever 21 gold bangles and BEND ACCESSORIES multi-functional handmade accessories kit. If you're wondering how the multifunctional accessory kit works, they can be worn as belt, necklace, headband, and bracelet plus they don't tarnish. For this outfit, I used it as a bracelet.

The ethnic and quite eccentric trend is actually easy to wear, just pair any patterns with a small print or solid prints without making a fashion faux pas. Always remember, if you're wearing a load or colorful print, try to make that piece pop by complementing it with neutral or basic pieces. If you feel like it's still simple, you can easily add spice to it by wearing accessories but try not to wear other prints or over-accessorieze.

Blue Sunday Dress

Last Sunday, I decided to wear a blue dress. I'm not really the type who would wear a short dress because I'm pretty conscious with my battle scars from volleyball. However, this color really caught my eye when I saw it. I had this piece hanging in my wardrobe for a long time so I finally decided to wear it on a special day. Matt & I usually like to wear matching clothes during Sundays to church so he pulled of those nice Zara long sleeves from his closet that pretty matches my dress.

After church we had to drive all the way to BF Homes, Paranaque for my nephews 4th birthday party so I just kept my outfit simple: CERTAIN THINGS blue dress, waist belt and block heels sandals. Accessorized my outfit with ASHBY bag, FRANZL BAJADA customized earrings and Forever 21 ring.
